Can Local Raw Materials Be Used to Produce CLC or Lightweight Blocks?
HENGDE develops lightweight-block formulations around the raw materials available to your factory. We test grading, composition, moisture and mix performance, then turn the results into preparation, dosing, mixing and curing requirements. The outcome is a defined material route and an equipment plan for the block you intend to manufacture.

Define the material supply and preparation route
A low purchase price may be offset by screening, grinding, drying, transport or inconsistent quality. Ask the supplier about origin, processing and variation between deliveries. Consider whether the material can be sourced reliably at the scale required by the factory.
Which materials can be assessed?
- River sand and manufactured sand: assess grading, fines, cleanliness and consistency.
- Stone powder: identify the source rock and processing route, rather than treating all quarry fines as equivalent.
- Fly ash: review the source and batch variability alongside trial performance.
- Slag: identify the actual material and its treatment; the term covers different industrial products.
- Tailings: examine composition, particle size and the testing needed for the proposed use.
- Construction waste: establish sorting, contaminant removal and consistent processing before mix trials.
HENGDE includes material characteristics and product targets in the trial plan. The project owner arranges the applicable local environmental and product approvals, supported by traceable samples and the required test reports.
From sample to equipment configuration
Material sample → testing → trial formula → formulation adjustment → process confirmation → equipment configuration.
Our engineers connect workability and fresh density with mould behaviour, setting, demoulding, cutting and the hardened properties required by the product. Each trial records the material source and batch. When a supplier or preparation method changes, we compare the new input against that working baseline and adjust the formulation where needed.
Only then select storage, feeding, metering and mixing arrangements. A difficult-to-handle powder or variable aggregate may change the preparation equipment. See the material preparation and metering equipment and the lightweight block production-line options.
Common mistakes
HENGDE controls the comparison: identify each sample, keep the baseline mix, change a defined variable and measure the required properties. This connects material selection to test results and gives the production team a practical basis for supplier control.
What information HENGDE needs
Provide the material names, origin, available analysis, approximate supply volume and photos. Tell us the target block type, size and project country. Before shipping samples, contact our raw-material assessment team for the appropriate sample preparation and handling instructions. The Shaoxing ceramsite block cutting project shows HENGDE cutting equipment matched to a ceramsite product. It illustrates the next engineering step after the material route is established: matching equipment to the product structure and dimensions.
Frequently asked questions
Can any tailings or construction waste be used?
HENGDE qualifies each source through composition, contaminant and performance checks. Suitable fractions enter a trial mix with defined preparation and dosage; inputs that fail the required criteria are excluded.
Does a successful small trial guarantee factory production?
A successful small trial establishes the starting formulation. HENGDE then checks repeated batches, mould filling, setting, cutting and handling at the intended process scale before defining production settings.
Should I buy the line before testing materials?
Start material testing during factory planning. HENGDE uses the results to specify preparation, metering, mixing and downstream equipment before the configuration is finalized.
