Local material supply is an important input to a lightweight block factory proposal. The formulation and equipment need to be developed together.

Evaluate the available inputs

HENGDE’s 2024 overviews discuss sand, fly ash, stone powder and other selected mineral materials as possible inputs. These are alternatives to evaluate, not a promise that any waste stream can be used without preparation. Supply consistency, grading and compatibility with the binder and foaming route need checking.

Build a defined production scope

Choose the intended blocks first, then plan material storage, dosing, mixing, moulds, cutting, curing and handling. Define which tasks are automated and which remain with operators. Representative samples and a documented trial provide a sounder basis for selection than general environmental claims or manufacturer rankings.
